Firefighter John F. Whelan was assigned to Division 13 and the Limited Service Squad on October 15, 1960 from Ladder 162. His death on September 9, 1969 was considered to be in the line of duty.
He was sixty-two years old.

Box 5773 - 131 Avenue & Francis Lewis Boulevard
Firefighter Edward Winewski and his company was operating at Box 5773 when he complained of chest pains. He was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Firefighter Winewski was placed on medical leave and passed away eight days later. He was thirty-four years old, married and the father of three children. He was appointed to the department on December 30, 1965.
Lieutenant Joseph P. Faughnan of Ladder 162 suffered a heart attack in quarters on November 17, 1987. He was fifty years old, married and the father of two sons. He was appointed on January 7, 1961.
